Masterminds - Why Being a Part of a Mastermind Group May Be Excellent For Your Online Business

Mastermind groups are extremely popular, but will they solve your problems when it comes to building your online business? That's the question you will want to ask yourself when you are thinking about joining an existing group or forming one of your own. Everyone seems to have a different opinion about what should go on in such a group, and it is your responsibility to determine what will work best for you. Think about how you will meet, what you hope to accomplish, and how each of the members will work to support the others with their businesses.

I was invited to join a Mastermind in the spring of 2009. This group had already been formed about three years earlier, and they had strict requirements as to income and level of expertise for all new members. They met in person three times each year, and maintained an online discussion board for the rest of the time. The group had a leader, and the members each paid a monthly or annual fee to be included. Many of the members did not have an online business, but were extremely successful in the offline world of business. There are about forty people in this group.

I am now a part of another group that meets in person about once a month. These members do not pay a fee, and there is not one group leader. Each person supports the others by promoting them to their list, and there are live events where each member is able to speak to the audience and share their information. There are five members of this group.

Which group works best? That is completely subjective, and I believe that each group has merit. You must decide what would work best for you, or if you would want to take the time and make the effort to be a member of more than one Mastermind group.

Think about forming your own group. Even if you are new to online marketing and working as an entrepreneur, starting your own group from the very beginning may be an excellent way to get started. Invite a few people you already know, and then ask each of them to invite someone they believe would be a good fit. Determine from the very beginning what your goals will be, and how each person will support the others. Masterminds may be the key to your online success.
